Solstice Drag Brunch + Fundraiser Recap

Our summertime drag brunch and fundraiser, Solstice, happened this past weekend! All proceeds went to BreakOUT, an organization fighting the criminalization of queer and trans youth of color in the New Orleans area. The coordinator for the Latinx sector of BreakOUT, Arley Wesley, was able to come by and talk a bit about what BreakOUT does and its importance to the New Orleans queer community. Thank you, Arley! You can read more about the organization's mission here.

The donation was made possible by two amazing sponsors, One Hope Wine and Gayborhood, an app that connects customers to LGBTQ friendly businesses. One Hope provided their sparkling wine for the event (which was amazing both on it's own and in mimosa form) and Gayborhood provided the tables and chairs so that everyone didn't have to eat their fancy foods on the floor.

Entertainment came in the form of four stunning queens who brought "casual witch" vibes to this summer solstice celebration. For booking and / or following, here ya go: Dede Onassis, Franky, Laveau Contraire, Slenderella. You can find photos of their looks below!

Our DJ was his own one man show and if you were there and wanna book him for your next event, email noladubs@gmail.com. And finally, all of the amazing photography is by Randy Schmidt, a New Orleans area food and lifestyle photographer whose work is remarkable (clearly). K, enough words, thanks to everyone who came out and for those who didn't, check it out in the photos below!

This event was held in Annunciation Hall at 1225 Mandeville St. in the Marigny. To book this space for your event contact Morgan at mohanson201@gmail.com or 504-875-6020.
