Lighting Love: Pleated Shade Lighting
Do you know what makes me feel happiness inside? When I manage to put off purchasing something I want for months, and then finally find a way to justify that purchase, and then love whatever it is that I bought. Somehow in my mind it makes it feel like I earned it or put more work in than if I’d impulse bought it (welcome to the inside of my brain, it’s a weird place).
Anyway, I’ve been obsessed with pleated shade lighting for a while now—the gorgeous grooves flooding my Instagram feed, gently daring me to partake. I’ve been enduring this taunting for nearly a year, until last week I finally gave in and ordered a Prairie Table Lamp from Lulu and Georgia. It’s petite and versatile on where it could be styled in our home, the perfect gateway drug into the world of pleated lighting.
Now that I’ve scratched that itch I feel the need to share all of the other lamps, pendants, and sconces with pleated shades that I eyed during my year of pleated shade celibacy, in case you’d like to have a piece of your own :-)
Below you’ll find our picks and info on each piece!
1.) Ceramic Sconce (Hardwired) | This piece is an absolute stunner!!! I could see us using these as bedside lighting or in a reading corner. They’re at a great price point, too!
2.) Swing Arm Pleated Sconce (Hardwired) | One thing about me is I love an arm that can swing. This swing arm sconce allows you to shed some light wherever you need it, all while being a beautifully chic piece of decor for your wall. I’d use this between two chairs in a reading corner, above a desk in a home office, or library.
3.) Ceramic Pendant Light (Hardwired) | I’ve been eyeing this piece forever and love that it feels both elegant and earthy all at once. And it reminds me of a wedding cake, which is my favorite cake after funfetti.
4.) Plug-In Wall Sconce | Plug-in sconces are fantastic for renters or anyone else who can’t or doesn’t want to have new wiring installed, and it’s rare to find one quite so beautiful. This is a great piece that you can easily move around your home if you find you’d like it better elsewhere, or even take it with you as you move from home to home.
5.) Ceramic Shade Sconce (Hardwired) | This piece is similar to No. 1 above, with a more timeless and classic design. As with No. 1 I’d use it for bedside lighting or a reading corner, but could also see several of these adorning the walls of a hallway.
6.) Metal Sphere Table Lamp with Pleated Shade | The geometry happening on this lamp is so pleasing! I could see myself styling this on pretty much any surface of my home that needs a little razzle dazzle.
7.) Groovy Table Lamp | It’s serving me 80’s throwback in a way I actually like. I would love to use this on a desk or in a home study.
8.) Prairie Table Lamp with Ceramic Shade and Walnut Base | My purchase last week! I love this petite lamp that is just as quality as it looks. The wooden base is a gorgeously rich finish and the shade is dainty and flirty. I’m still figuring out where I want it to live permanently in the house, because it could go so many places!
9.) Scrunch Table Lamp | I am obsessed with this lamp, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. I’d love to style this in a moody or darker room where its pleated details would act as a surprising little treat that catches the eye.
10.) Tray Base Floor Lamp | Fashion and function all at once—this is a no brainer and the ultimate accompaniment to your favorite Big Comfy Chair, or styled anywhere you’d like to sip martinis and gossip.
11.) Flores Floor Lamp | Simple and striking, this piece is timeless and elegant. The shape is pleasing to anyone who loves symmetry or just has a little OCD. I’d style this in a wide variety of room styles, but could see it really popping in a space that has elements of California Modern or Modern Organic design.
Thanks for stopping the blog today, let us know which piece you go with!!
