Slumber Party: Our Bedtime Favorites
I’m very serious about my sleep, mostly because any time I’m operating on fewer than eight solid hours of slumber, I become a monster. Well, more of a monster. Some people (everyone in my life) would say I have an “attitude” and “tone” problem…to which I say: you’re all stupid.
But I do agree I can be a bit cold unintentionally, and without proper sleep, I get even worse. Sleep, for me, is about mental and emotional and physical health, and I do my very best to make sure I’m set up for success. These days, you won’t catch me on a 6 a.m. flight or singing karaoke at midnight. Those are times reserved for the sweet, sweet face-to-pillow connection I so deeply cherish.
While Matthew needs less sleep than me, he takes it just as seriously. And thanks to his love of sleep sounds and chakra music, most nights after 10 p.m. our bedroom transforms into a sound bath. The thermostat is set cold. The essential oils are infusing. The eye masks are pulled down low. The linens are soft. The darkness…all consuming.
Below, I’ve got a few of our favorites for getting our much-needed slumber, and I hope you find them of value!
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream | Perfect for sealing in moisture while we sleep.
Cetaphil Deep Hydration | A simple face cream that clings to moisture.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate | A luxe serum to keep us aging like fine wine.
Stainless Steel Gua Sha | Shatterproof, anti-microbial and perfect for carving out those cheekbones and releasing jaw tension.
Hero Rescue Retinol | We’re in our 30s now, so a good retinol is on the menu.
Elemis Superfood Facial Oil | For that plumpness and glowiness we love, a good facial oil is key.
Sleep mask | Keep out the piercing morning light (if you have as many windows as we do).
Good Day Chocolate | Melatonin + chocolate is a real winner in our book.
Vitruvi Diffuser | Just add lavender for an absolutely essential addition to your nighttime routine.
Reading light | Matt can stay up all night reading without disturbing my sleep with this little light.
