There was a whole lot to be excited about when designing our kitchen–picking out the stone for the countertops, designing the cabinet layout and flow–but picking out the appliances was very very high on our list of Things We’re Stoked To Do.

It’s not every day you get to pick out new kitchen appliances, and they’re something we’ll be enjoying for many years to come, so it felt like kind of a huge decision! We knew we’d be doing panel-ready appliances and started doing some research on which brands offered the best–that’s when friends of ours recommended we look into Fisher & Paykel, a new-to-us appliance brand that manufacturers award-winning luxury appliances. Award-winning? Luxury? Perfect for the kitchen we were hoping to create.

Going through the Fisher & Paykel website it’s clear that their goal is to provide the most well-designed pieces for any style of home, while not overwhelming you with a million different products. The company offers a pared down selection of the best of the best in refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and cooking appliances (they also have laundry appliances–so that’s on our list for our next big laundry room makeover!).

They also happened to have the perfect refrigerator for us, a 36” Integrated French Door Refrigerator and Freezer that would blend perfectly into our cabinetry. We shared the products with our carpenter and he confirmed they would be perfect for the paneled look we were hoping to achieve, and so we went on to pick out the dishwasher (the Fisher & Paykel Integrated Double DishDrawer Dishwasher) and the range oven, (the Fisher & Paykel 36” 6 Burner Range). Below I’ve got our written review with details on each piece to help guide you through picking your own appliances!

36” Integrated French Door Refrigerator and Freezer |

An organization lover’s dream! This refrigerator and freezer appears to have been designed with organization, freshness, and access as the top priorities. While there’s ample shelving, what I really love is that there are climate controlled drawers to help keep food fresh, improve airflow around fresh produce, and reduce food waste. My absolute least favorite feeling is that feeling of failure when a head of lettuce doesn’t make its way onto our dinner table before spoiling, and with the climate controlled drawers in this refrigerator everything has been kept at it’s perfect temperature for remaining fresh for as long as possible.

Below the French door refrigerator is the freezer, which they’ve designed to keep as organized as possible. Other bottom-drawer freezers we’ve had lacked much in the way of shelving or built-in organization, instead being basically just a big frozen pit to throw food into. Not great. This freezer has multiple pull out shelves that allow you to store and organize your food perfectly, so you’ll have easy access to whatever it is you’re looking for.

We love using this piece, and we love how it looks, and could not recommend it enough!

Integrated Double DishDrawer Dishwasher |

This dishwasher will make you enjoy doing dishes. I’m serious. I’d never used a double drawer dishwasher before and was interested to see how I’d like it and well I’m here to report that I love it! Basically it allows for you to run smaller loads instead of waiting to fill up a whole dishwasher before running it, separate dishes based on how you need them washed (such as doing one load on the longer-running “Heavy” wash cycle while another load is done on “Quick” wash mode), and easy access as they open just like regular kitchen drawers.

As with the fridge, the organization inside of the drawers is next level, with a space for everything you’d need to put in the dishwasher. Also like the fridge, the integrated dishwasher blended right into our cabinetry and looks gorgeous with its panels.

Professional Series 36” 6 Burner Range |

This is the range oven of my dreams. The six burners provide so much space for Matt and I to make our favorite meals, and the power of this thing is beyond! I can get a pot of water boiling in minutes and reduce and increase heat with extreme precision. The oven has over 5 cu feet of capacity and full extension “non tip” racks which lets you slide out the racks all the way to remove items without having to worry about them coming out of the oven (there’s a latch system that secures them in place). It’s the best range oven we’ve ever used and I’m so happy with how it looks in our kitchen.
